Went to the Good Eats Food Festival today with my sister. Her friend that was supposed to come with us got the times mixed up so she ended up missing out. Got a whole lot of free samples and coupons. And, yes, I did even pay for a few things. Reusable mesh produce bags, cuz I hate those plastic ones, a Christmas gift for someone, and bag-sealers (like chip-clips but better)! Oh and some premade Indian food, and a pina colada sorbet that was served in a pineapple! I think that was the best. Wow, and I just found out it isn't even distributed in Canada yet! It should be a big hit! Oh, I also bought 5 bottles of flavoured tea, but I found out when I got home that it is unsweetened. Zero calories, but bitter, so I added some sugar.
One of the first things we did was watch a demonstration/information session. We got to sample Lipton beverages, flavoured soy and milk beverages, apple sauce, chocolate. Leah got a free yougert and we both got a free bottle of flavoured water (new from Dasani). There was a lot of meat and bread products as well, along with insurance brokers, and other strictly informative booths. Anna Olsen was there as well, but we didn't stop to listen to her. There was also a cheese tasting workshop, but we didn't feel like waiting around for the next one. We tried tofu "icecream" bars, drinkable applesauce, lots and lots of liquids... there was a artistic watermelon carver.
I feel more excited after-the-fact now that I realise that at least half of the stuff we tried there isn't even on the market yet! It was exhausting being in such a crowded area, but such is the way of conventions.
Overall, yay sisterly bonding.

Also, I have been reading a book called Microserfs, and it mentions COMDEX... and I've been there!!! Yay!

Okay, now I just want to unwind before I go to bed. Who knows what tomorrow may bring.
