Watching Second Skin right now. Only about 10 minutes into it and it's kinda sweet all the couples who met through MMORPGs. Sorta creepy, but sweet too.

Okay, this next part about addiction is rather frightening. I'm starting to think "World of WarCrack" is actually a rather apt name. I guess it's just not my drug of choice.

God, I hope I am worrying about nothing.

Some people are definitely better at managing their time on it than others. I'm not so good, which is why I'll probably stop buying timecards for it if I get back to school. Too risky.

Honestly though, I'd be more concerned about the reason behind the addiction than about the game itself, if it's a bad addiction. While addictive, WoW is not a drug that creates a chemical dependancy, like actual crack. What it is is an escape from an otherwise dull or unhappy life.

it is interesting because you would think that substance abuse would be harder to overcome...getting off the crack, getting the nicotine out of your system...but really it is the same thing, they all increase certain brain activity and endorphin rushes...

but just like in everything else, there are users and then their are abusers (addicts)...i know people who smoked everyday for years and were able to give it up cold turkey without a backwards glance...no withdrawal...nothing...but i also know people who are hooked after one puff...the brain is a funny thing..
