I'd really like to sleep right now, but there are a bunch of little things I have to get done before I leave tomorrow.
Bills have been paid, so that's taken care of. I am planning on sending out mail and purchasing vitamins tomorrow before I leave. Also thinking of asking Leah if we can drop by the storage unit to pick up the phone.
On to the good stuff...
Elaine picked me up at 10:30am on Saturday. We only got to Pete & Donna's a 4pm! Blargh. Obviously, the drive up was rather boring, but I kicked Elaine's butt at the license-plate game. I think we saw about a third of the states (Illinois, Virgina, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio...) and lots of Quebec plates (plus Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, B.C, Nova Scotia). I even saw a car missing plates. We amused ourselves for about 20 minutes when we spotted a Cube. Neither of us had seen one before, and we thought it was odd, so we took pictures. There were a few cars that drove all the way up to Barrie with us (specifically "woof" and "urge").
I didnt find the food that great this year. Nothing new or exciting really either. I got roped in to playing a game of Bocci ball, which I found to be rather boring. :P The most exciting part was watching Ann's friend Vanessa on an episode of Healthy Gourmet. After hearing her experience and seeing the episode, I'll be questionning more of what I see on those types of shows.
We started the karaoke around 9pm. We had it up on the deck this year, as the field was soggy due to the previous week's worth of rain. It was crowded and hectic up there. We couldn't find a bunch of songs because we were missing a book of discs! By the time we found it, the people who had requested the songs were no longer interested. After karaoke, there were fireworks. Like real ones, not the ones you buy for your backyard. Most people went to bed after that. Someone finally got a bonfire going and a few of us sat around for a bit, listening to Johnny Cash. A plan developed to attack the other camp with water-balloons. It was fun, but we failed miserably! By then, it was about 2am and nearly everone was passing out, so I decided to go to bed.
I don't remember what time we left on Sunday, but the drive back down was a lot faster. Sort of.
Elaine had to stop by the TCC to take pictures of airplanes. Then we drove on to Oakville and she wanted to findthis specific park to take pictures. I just wanted to have a nap in the grass! The whole way down, we were trying to get a hold of Ian to see if he wanted to go for supper. No answer but we decide to stop by his place and see if he was in. We get there and he is just about to leave for Hamilton, so we pick him up. Laura didn't feel like going out, so I called up Les & Mandy and we had dinner with them. I ended up getting home at around 9pm. I unpacked and played Dr. Mario all night until I slept.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the part of the party where I got a penguin thrown at me and as a result got soaked in alcohol! And I'd only brought the one shirt! But at least I got a free penguin out of it!
That's pretty much all that's new in my life. Hope everyone is well.
