Day 3 (with dreamingbear):
We drove to Hamilton to hang out with her friends from the SCA. George is awesome, too bad he has a girlfriend. :P I nagged Les & Mandy until they showed up as well! Gina & Dave have so many ribbon magnets and stickers, I asked K if she thought they had enough. That day was also the windstorm. While we were in Hamilton, half of D&G's tree fell onto their yard. It's a good thing we went out for the day, cuz when we got back, a branch had fallen where K's car would have been parked! I blame K and her friends for my watching of The Tudors. :P Got our geek/nerd-on, which was awesome and I wasn't too nervous around anyone, just really tired. lol.
K had now been in Canada for 3 entire days without having been to a Tim Horton's! Her Hamilton friends had been ribbing her about it the night before and since the restaurant we wanted to go to didn't open until 4pm, we decided to hit up Tim's before she left. We even have photographic evidence. :P The guy at the counter said, "Welcome to Canada, eh?" which I thought was amusing. :)
After K headed out, I took a nap. Heh. I enjoyed it.
Regarding my broken hard-drive:
I sent the company the $25 they asked for so they could send my drive back to me. Didn't hear a word from them, so I emailed asking if they had received the money. Here is the reply (copy/pasted - no alterations):
Your package came back to us and stating that our account prohibits international shipment. I spoke with my management. they will refund $25 that you send to us, however you will need to send us a prepaid label so we could return drive back to you. please create a shipping label at any location of UPS or FedEx and fax it over to us so we could mail media back.
First of all, shouldn't they have contacted me about this? Also, they have very poor correspondence skills. And do I expect to see this refund? Yeah, right. And, we had no success with UPS, which is why we sent the money in the first place. *sigh* This place has just been completely unhelpful and unprofessional throughout this entire ordeal. And, yes, I asked them before I sent it out if I would be able to use their service even though I live in Canada. They said, "Yes, of course!" ... You cannot imagine how unimpressed I am. And they supposedly do work for NASA and the US Government?? Anyway, Elaine is taking me to FedEx on Tuesday to see if we can deal with this once and for all. What The Flipping Fuck?!
Had a good day out shopping with J. No movies playing that we felt like paying to see, so we just shopped, talked, and ate. :P Played a kick-ass game called Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I got a gigillion points without even knowing the controls, so that was fun! The guy at the EB by my place is fun as well. And Harry Potter Lego game in June!!! I'm either goning to have to get me a system or go over to J's house to play a few of these games, and I'm not really planning on buying a system anytime soon. :P Didn't buy much as I am saving all of my cash for Anime North, but I had to get Gizmo a new litterbox, as the first one I bought is cracked, but it was a "disposable" one anyway. We watched "Phil The Alien" and ate mint Aero flurries. Yayness.
So, now, I am just planning on working on my iTunes tonight. So paranoid about missing therapy (on Monday) but anxious about getting there as well.
