Yard Sailing [May. 3rd, 2008|02:44 pm]
Peripheral

microwave - $15
8 piece set of nice Corelle dishes - $10 (+ several dishes from another set, but I'm not keeping those)
rice cooker that comes with a steamer - $15
Tupperware saladbowl, microwavable bowl, orange peeler, veg peeler - $25

I also got wooden salt & pepper shakers, a bucket, Corningware dish, a hand blender, wooden utensil holder, and so random decorative things. (about $5 altogether)

I think I scored pretty well. I still haven't found a set of utensils I like, or a kitchen table, but I'll find those eventually. There are so many stores I have yet to hit up, including WalMart, Zellers, Ikea. Shopping for house stuff is so much fun! Moving everything is not going to be as much fun, but unpacking and setting up house will be amazing!

Sounds like you scored extremely well at the yard sale.

When are you moving? All the best of luck for your move & settling into your new home X

I'd like to move asap. Getting the key on Tuesday and cleaning the entire place first.

It all depends on when people with a vehicle are available.

I highly recommend checking out a good dollar store (a big one like Dollarama). You can find all kinds of stuff there. I got most of my basic kitchen items there (ie. whisk, spatula, tongs, etc.). And it's so freaking cheap!

Yeah, we got a lot of our dishes from Dollarama while we were in uni. I like the "tupperware" they have there, so I'll be stocking up on that. :)
