Xmas at my mom's was nice, but I am glad to be back in my own room now.
a comforter, cash, and a baby tigre named "Minscie". (I'll have to ask my mom how that is properly spelled.)
a book, from Kim (I think it's called "And I don't want to live this life". I can't see the title from here.)
Carnival of Rust by Poets of the Fall, from Paulii
a "curious cat" ceramic wall hanging, from Melanie
Samaurai Jack season 4, from Liz
a piece of Latvian jewelery and a bunch of candy (plus $20), from my aunt
a bunch of girly stuff and a cute note paper drawer thing, from my step-sis
my sister gave me an i-Cat, House season 3, and a TY plush pelican
a WalMart giftcard (with an undisclosed amount), from my father
I haven't opened any gifts from Ed and Elaine yet, so I'll post that later.
So, my mom had to work on Christmas day, so I didn't see her much except for supper, but she had yesterday off. She took me shopping (I needed a strapless bra for my New Year's Eve dress) and I got 3 items from Penningtons for less than what it usually cost me for one item! And my mom got herself an outfit for New Year's Eve. Zellers was having a sale, and I got a DDR mat for $10! I am so happy about that. We spent the rest of the day altering/fitting my dress. My step-sis came over for supper and we had lots of conversation afterwards. I worked on my knitting a lot while I was over there and am nearly finished the first part. w00t. I'm not sure if I am going to be able to colour match the yarn once I run out, but I'll deal with that when it happens.
Got home this morning. Spent a few hours on the computer trying to catch up with LJ, email, etc. We are still getting bogus collect calls. The first time, I hung up on them without saying anything. The second one went to the machine. The third time the phone rang, I picked it up and said "This better not be a collect call," and the guy was like, "Uh, yeah. It is." I spoke to him and he was actually really helpful and understanding. It sounded like he has dealt with this before. Any other time we've asked to speak to someone, we get hung up on, so yay nice guy who works for Sprint whose name I should have asked. It's just so annoying to have the phone ring all morning when you are trying to sleep. I vote that we change the machine to pick up after one ring.
So, I made breakfast (banana and oatmeal) at 11:30 and spoke to Ed when he got up. Then I went upstairs to unpack and put away my stuff. I sort of also packed for Toronto at the same time as I was unpacking my stuff from my mom's. So, other than regular clothes and a few things, I'm pretty set for NYE!!! I'm really looking forward to it.
This afternoon, Liz asked if I wanted to go to the mall. :) I (finally) bought some new underwear. I had one impulse buy (a pair of soft fuzzy socks). I got some travel sized toiletries and foundation. Everything came to $39 even. We spent so much time at the mall! It was fun being able to linger-shop. Sadly, the bubbletea shop was out of tapioca and tea, so I didn't get any. :( But Liz bought me pizza from Gino's, so that was cool. And we picked up some more bloodorange soda for Ed. (He might be addicted, lol.) We popped in to Staples, but they didn't have the stuff for my photoprinter.
I miss Leah.
Okay. Right now I am looking forward to relaxing. Zzzzz. Still need to finish catching up on my flist.
